Private engineering firm seeks an experienced transportation/highway design engineer to join their team in Northern Virginia. Work on a collaborative team with experienced experts and mentors.
Lead design projects to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, government agencies, and project staff.
Perform a wide array of engineering tasks including traffic control designs, roadway and highway designs, streetscapes, etc. Prepare contract plans, cost estimates, and specifications. Apply regulatory requirements and design requirements to project plans.
What you need:
- 5+ years of experience in transportation/highway design
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to lead
- S. in Civil Engineering or related field
- MicroStations V8i, GEOPAK/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil3D
- E. registration or the ability to pass within six months of hire
- In-depth understanding of highway design standards, MUTCD, VDOT, AASHTO, and other highway design guidelines
